# Welcome to Fieldwork

Bring the questions. Find the next steps.

Fieldwork is a human-led consulting service supported by AI. Work with a consultant to clarify a question, investigate options, and turn the findings into something useful.

You might need help researching a decision, developing an idea, writing code, or working through a technical workflow. Your consultant chooses appropriate tools, reviews the results, and explains what they mean for your situation.

## Start with a question

Your initial inquiry is free. Tell us what you are trying to do and where you need help. You do not need a complete brief to begin.

If there is work to take forward, you and your consultant agree the scope, deliverable, fee, and timing before paid work begins. There is no obligation to proceed from an inquiry.

## A place to keep the conversation

Your Fieldwork workspace holds submitted inquiries, project messages, and results your consultant has shared with you. You can return using your email sign-in link, including while you are still discussing an unpaid inquiry.

Fieldwork is welcoming its first clients while the workspace continues to develop. Your consultant may work in separate research and coding tools, then bring reviewed results back to your project.
